The Venue Reception & Box Office is open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.  In the evenings times vary depending on events and activities. Please ring 0114 2838692 during Reception opening hours to check details.

 

The Venue Bar is open Friday's, Saturday's and Monday's from 7.00pm with fantastic cask and draught beer offers every week.

The Venue can also help you with your own special event. We have a variety of function rooms available for hire for parties, conferences, weddings, exhibitions and other events. Please contact us for information on pricing and the facilities on offer.

The Venue has a wide range  events taking place such as concerts, gigs, plays and other performing arts. We host a monthly Can You Jam session,  Folk Nights and regularly hold Band Nights

Fancy a gig?

The Venue is running band nights open to all ages, experience and genre. If you fancy a gig either email graham.silverwood@btinternet.com or private message The Venue in Facebook.

The Venue is not just a place to watch or listen, why not try out a variety of activities and leisure learning  here at the Venue. 

Learn new skills such as cake decorating, scrap booking, jewellery making, crafts, digital photography and flower arranging.  If you would like to learn how to use a computer or improve your computer skills, we run a number of leisure learning courses  Other regular activities include Music and Song for pre-school children, Children's activities as well as Tai Chi, Slimming World, Weightwatchers, Salsa and Sequence Dancing, Zumba, Chairobics and singing with the Waldershelf Choir.

We also have Soft Play Sessions. (Suitable for 4years and under). The price is £2.50 per adult, this incudes up to 2 children and a free tea/coffee for the adult.  COME AND JOIN IN THE FUN!!

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday  9-3pm

There are regular car boot sales both indoors and outdoors as well as craft fayres and food markets - Car boot pitches cost £8 and run from 10.00-2pm once a month on a Saturday (open to booters at 9.00am) These regularly sell out so please book in advance

Packed with vitality, humour and excitement, Cloudstreet's performance of Australian, English and Celtic songs are accompanied by driving guitar and Irish flute support.

Make beaded jewellery on this 6 session course with our tutor - each week try out a new pattern and design and create an individual piece of jewellery  each week. Course cost is £34 + small materials charge each week

The start date is Tuesday 8th May,  it runs for 8 weeks  the last session is 3rd July 10.00am -12.30pm Cost is £50
 
The course is aimed at anyone with a digital camera whatever level and is about getting the best from what you have, dont be put off if you dont think your camera is good enough or you are a novice.  It covers
  • Exposure Basics ( Aperture-shutter speed-sensitivty-ISO)
  • Camera Control - Histograms, working in Manual - autofocus
  • The truth about pixels & file formats
  • Black & White Photography
  • Composition & Clour
  • Famous Photographers and their work
  • Macro Photography
  • Different types of alternative photography
  • Portrait photography
  • Use of lighting and flash
  • Presenting your work, mounting and printing
